Il Monastero’ is a magnificent historic former
stone monastery, built in 12th and 15th centuries, and now beautifully
restored as a family home of character and charm in a tranquil
medieval village high in the hills, with views over ancient olive
groves planted in 14th/15th centuries, leading down the valley
to the Roman temple of Clitunno, celebrated by Catullus and Byron,
and lying beside the old Roman road, via Flaminia which runs north
to Assisi and Perugia, south to nearby Spoleto.
The villa is perfectly located for an exquisite self-catering
holiday of tranquil rest, or activity oriented mountain walks
and art lover’s tours.
The villa is easy to reach being less than 2 hours drive from both
of Rome’s airports and Florence,
as well as by train from Ancona (all accessible by Easyjet and
Ryanair)
